About

Dr. Haissam Dahan has dedicated his career to helping patients find lasting relief from TMJ disorders and sleep apnea. He understands how jaw pain, headaches, facial tension, and poor sleep can quietly affect every part of your life — your energy, your focus, your mood, and your relationships. His goal is not simply to treat symptoms, but to identify the root cause and create a personalized plan that restores comfort, function, and quality of life.
Raised in London, Ontario, Dr. Dahan earned his Dental degree from McGill University in 2005 after completing a Science degree at Carleton University. After practicing general dentistry in Ottawa for five years and completing a Masters in Dental Science, he chose to focus exclusively on facial pain and sleep-related breathing disorders. He pursued advanced training through a clinical fellowship in Orofacial Pain at the world-renowned Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, where he also served as a part-time clinical instructor at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Following his fellowship, he returned to Ottawa to establish a practice devoted entirely to TMJ and sleep apnea management.
Dr. Dahan is the author of Heal Your TMJ, a self-help book written to empower TMJ sufferers with clear guidance and hope. He is also the founder of the Dahan Centre for Learning, where he teaches dentists across North America how to properly diagnose and treat TMJ disorders and sleep apnea. His passion for education comes from a desire to help as many people as possible experience relief, even beyond his own clinic. Because of this commitment, doctors occasionally visit the clinic to shadow and learn his treatment protocols. He also teaches residents and fellows from the University of Ottawa’s Neurology and Sleep Medicine departments, collaborating with medical colleagues to advance patient care.
Dr. Dahan has published scientific papers supporting his doctoral work and has lectured at Harvard, Tufts, and McGill Universities. The Ottawa TMJ & Sleep Apnea Clinic was recently recognized as one of the “Companies to Watch” by the Ottawa Business Journal.
Patients who visit the clinic can expect a thorough evaluation, clear explanations, and a customized treatment plan tailored to their individual needs. Dr. Dahan believes that excellent care combines advanced clinical expertise with genuine listening and compassion.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Dahan is a husband and father of two boys and a daughter. He is an avid runner who has completed numerous marathons and half marathons and is currently training for his first triathlon. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling with his family and perfecting the art of making a delicious latte at home.
